Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is a system of subsidies and support programmes for agriculture operated by the Euopean Union. CAP combines direct payments to farmers together with price/market supports. It currently accounts for about 62% of the EU's budget.

CAP payments to farmers in Ireland are now in the public domain. They can be viewed in the CAP beneficiaries database.
