Notice of receipt of Foreshore Lease application to construct an Offshore Wind Farm in Outer Galway Bay, submitted on behalf of Fuinneamh Sceirde Teoranta.
Notice is hereby given that an application for a Foreshore Lease to construct an Offshore Wind Farm in Sceirde Rocks, Outer Galway Bay was submitted to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food on Thursday, 15 May 2008. This application was submitted by Fuinneamh Sceirde Teoranta and includes an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and associated material.
Following an initial examination of the application by the Department and it's Specialist Advisors, a period of public consultation has begun.

A hard copy of the Environmental Impact Statement may be purchased from the applicant at a cost of €300. This document is priced to reimburse printing costs only. The Non Technical Summary (which is available in both Irish and English) and a Compact Disc version are available free of charge from the applicant.
The public consultation period, which will last for 2 months, commenced on 02 January 2009. As part of this process copies of the EIS and photomontages will be available for viewing at the designated places and times indicated on the Public Notice (pdf 770Kb)
Notification of the times and dates of the public consultation process was also published in a number of national and regional newspapers by the applicant.
Written submissions may be made within two months from the date of publication of this Notice by interested persons to: The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Coastal Zone Management Division, Johnstown Castle Estate, Co. Wexford (quoting Reference No. MS 53/60) in relation to the effects on the environment of the proposed development and may also include objections to or representations in relation to the grant of a Lease for the proposed works.
