Location:
East Coast Ireland: Latitude 53° 23° 30° N. Longitude 006 04W
Situated on the North side of Howth Peninsula, close North of Dublin Bay. Irelands Eye (a rocky island 99mtrs) is 6 cables due North of Harbour
Approach
Rowan Rocks buoy (E cardinal) Q (3) 10 sec off SE of Irelands Eye.
Howth Buoy (Stbd hand) F1.G 5 sec South of Irelands Eye.
South Rowan Buoy Q.G. (Starboard Hand) in sound North of harbour entrance.
Light House marking North end of new breakwater extension F1. (2) W.R. 7.5 sec.
Once inside the harbour it is divided into two halves. The West side is the trawler basin entered between two-bull noses marks Stbd hand F1.G 3 sec. And Port hand Q.R. The east side is for yachts with swinging moorings and a marked channel to Yacht Club marina.
There is 3.7m in the harbour entrance and care should be taken when a swell is running in the sound. (East/SE gales or after gales)
The Harbour Master controls movement and berthing within the harbour.
Auction Hall, Ice Plant and Landing berth to be kept clear.

Berthage:
Approx depths 3.7 metres.
West pier 240 metres, Auction Hall and Ice Plant 85 metres, South West pier and landing berth 120 metres. Landing Berth and Ice Plant Berth to be kept clear
Middle Pier (South) about 180 metres
Pleasure craft are not accommodated in Trawler Basin.
Pilotage
Not compulsory.

High Water average Dublin + 10 minutes
Repairs
There is a functioning shipyard, with electric power supply and fresh water at Howth harbour, for use to all types of vessels. Engine repairs can be undertaken locally. Electronic and radio repairs are carried out by agents for all gear. The Harbour offers a service to lift and transfer of vessels to the shipyard (Synchrolift capacity for 600 tonnes).
